The Lone Star College System may face a 5 percent cut to its state funding over the next two years. LSC officials were notified by the state legislative budget board that the college system may lose $3.1 million in funding in both the current fiscal year and next year because of a shortfall in state sales tax collections.

The Northwest Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee is preparing for the parade, to be held on March 14. According to Ultimate Spring blogger Kim Jackson, they also teamed up with the Laff Spot Champions Comedy Club to host a dinner/comedy show on Feb. 25, benefiting Cypress Creek’s EMS Scholarship program.
