Too funny, I love it. We can't find sitters either, they don't return...it can't be my kids. Has to be the dogs.

Flipped

Another writing challenge. The idea was to write a scene where the 'norm' has been flipped. The character is aware, but no one else is. What would ...

Interesting. Raises a few issues in my mind, but definitely fascinating. I did always wonder how some men managed to emanate more femininity than most women I know. Still, seems unfair that they don't have to put the same work we did to find the right balance of femininity and strength. And STILL don't have to experience childbirth.

Very funny. I sympathize with your wife, we have our own blankets due to my cocooning habit. But then I live in Canada. 50 degrees is sleeping naked, sweating buckets kind of weather.

Visit in the warmer months or you'll have to eat your words. I wear socks to bed from September to June. We're not even the coldest province. Although this week was -30something. Brrr.

Thanks. We plan to visit Canada soon. In my wife's defense, we lived in Nebraska one year and I was colder than she was.

I have already put this book in my 'to read' list, yes I have a list. Now I'll have to bump it up. I love the excerpt, and want to read more. Oh, and excellent writing Johanna.

I moderate a writing group and I'm definitely going to share this, I think you've offered some excellent advice for writers. Number 1 is a big one for me, I cannot stand pages and pages of 'purple prose', and number 7 is a great one. I learned that early, thank God. They're all good. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm intrigued for sure. I've put this on my 'to read' list. Close to the top, so I read it soon. One person I'd bring back from the dead? Would they be all messed up? Because that would really influence my answer. I'd love to bring T.S. Elliot or Poe, simply because I'd love to pick their brains, but I'm not sure if that would be such a great idea. Hmmm...so I'll go with the safe answer and say my grandmother. Even if she came back messed up she'd be a hoot. Yeah, I know I'm late with this answer, and long winded, get used to it. I'm subscribing to you.

I love the art. Clowns creep me out, but that last page **shivers** that should give me nightmares. Interesting little story, my only complaint is that I want to read more. Is that all there is?
