This picture from the TxDOT camera at Campus and I-20 in South Fort Worth pretty much tells the story. Snowflakes are falling, but little is even collecting on grassy areas. The latest map from the National Weather Service in Fort Worth reduces the amount of possible snowfall in D-FW to an inch ... and forecasters concede there likely won't be enough snow to break any records today. What frozen precipitation was spotted before midnight must have been a false alarm of sorts because the storm has still not arrived in the immediate Dallas-Fort Worth area. But it isn't far. You can now see it near Weatherford on the radar. Snowfall predictions of 1 to 2 inches for Dallas-Fort Worth have not changed overnight. Heavier amounts are expected south of Interstate 20. The area is under a winter weather advisory until 3 p.m. ... plus strong north winds make it feel like it is in the upper 20s. So bundle up and be safe out there. Original post at 11:37 p.m., Monday Here's what the NEXRAD radar was showing shortly before midnight. Who doesn't have power? Is such and such road passable? Are stores over there open? Tuesday's snow isn't predicted to rival that of two weeks ago, but we'd still like to test drive a mapping experiment to see if it would be useful in the future. Update: 5 p.m. Oncor spokeswoman Catherine Cuellar said crews should be at the Salisbury and Burns residences this afternoon. She also said a handful of lingering outages remain from last week's storm, but new problems are occurring as weakend tree limbs fall on power lines. About 1,700 area homes were without power as of 3 p.m. "With the winds picking up we're seeing new outages," Cuellar said. "I want to apologize to the folks still without power. I know it's frustrating and inconvient," she said. "It's an imperfect system, and we're doing the best we can with what we have." Cuellar urged residents to keep reporting outages at 1-888-313-4747. Residents have complained about a lack of response to such calls. "We do want to improve our communication," Cuellar said. "We will take the lessons of this storm into consideration. The public's feedback is needed." Oncor Electric Delivery proclaimed Monday that electrical power had been restored "to all customers" knocked off-line by the record snow storm. Jim Salisbury begs to differ. He says his Oak Cliff home is still without power, five days after the lights went out. And a electrical line still lies in his side yard at 1739 Boca Chica Drive, he said. "I've been calling since early Friday morning, and I'm getting nothing from them," he said. "I wonder if I lived in Highland Park would I have had my power restored Friday." Chris Burns told us his East Dallas home remains without power as well, and that he too has a line down in his yard at 6016 Penrose. "Every morning I call and repeat my complaint," he said. Other angry, frustrated, tearful folks told us this morning that their lights were still out. But through the day Keith Mitchell, Laymonde Lee, Sherri Lewis and Emily Whitsett reported that their electricity had been restored. In its news release, Oncor warned that its customers "will continue to experience spotty outages in the coming weeks" as weakened limbs and trees fall on power lines. We called an Oncor spokeswoman this morning and await a response. The company also said crews will begin pruning trees affected by the storm in preparation for the spring storm season.

Nice. Forecasters say you're in luck: Tuesday will be sunny and clear with a high close to 50 degrees. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be same but even closer to the average high of 60 degrees. (Editor's note: We'd like to thank the cute kiddos above for playing ... even though their picture was taken years ago for an unrelated story. But I bet they like sunshine.) Restoration work stopped in 2 neighborhoods as homeowners refused 2 let crews clear tree limbs from the line. Crews had 2 move 2 next outage Oncor spokesman Chris Schein tells me that one neighborhood is in Update @ 9:40 p.m. Schein says the homeowner in North Dallas is without power, but does not want his tree trimmed. Oncor says that is preventing the rest of the neighborhood from also being restored. In Oncor says police were called to both locations. Trimming has apparently started in the Arlington neighborhood. Schein is waiting on an update from the North Dallas home. Schein says this kind of thing has happened after other storms. Matter of fact, he says, the Sheriff had to be called out near Sherman last week when an uncooperative homeowner pulled a gun on trimmers trying to prune a tree so that an Oncor crew could pick up a downed power line. Update @ 9:20 a.m., Mon., Feb. 15 Oncor says one of the incidents from last night was actually in Fort Worth not Arlington. The trees in both locations (Oncor not releasing the exact addresses) were eventually trimmed and power was restored in those neighborhoods. Update @ 12:27 p.m. The latest on the tree saga: Oncor says police were called to four locations (Richardson, North Dallas and two in Fort Worth) overnight where homeowners refused to let their trees be trimmed.
