Along this vein, I also highly recommend Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg. Both authors approach writing with excellent exercises that can really get your creativity unblocked and fresh. A favorite exercise I've learned is to take a random sentence from a random book as an opening and try to write a story around it. Try it!
