Ready to roll with smaller field
Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon organizers have been finalizing logistics for the March 14 event, which benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Event director Kari Logan and Joel Griesbach, director of operations, drove the course and met with city officials in preparation for an anticipated field of 13,500.

Fort Worth's Cowtown registrations leap under new limits
Heidi Swartz, director of The Cowtown, Fort Worth's popular multirace event, continues to marvel at the frenzied pace of registration these days. More than 8,700 have registered for the Feb. 27 races, compared with about 2,000 at this point last year. And the 2009 Cowtown drew a record field of nearly 18,000.

Fresh yet familiar course charted for Dallas Rock 'n' Roll half marathon
The March 14 Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon course will be a scenic point-to-point route along popular stretches of classic Dallas courses. An estimated 15,000 runners will start at Dallas City Hall and finish at Fair Park, said race director Kari Logan.

Jingle Bell Run shakes off four years of rust
The Jingle Bell Run, one of Dallas' most festive running events, returns Tuesday night after a four-year absence. The revived 5K and 1-mile runs will start and finish at the Hilton Anatole and wind through the Dallas Design District with a postrace party at the Anatole.
