New UIL enrollment figures show close calls for area schools
The UIL released on Friday the enrollment figures it used for the 2010-2012 biennial realignment. The numbers show close calls for schools like Denton Guyer, who will now compete in 5A.
Steroid testing may be cut from Texas high schools
Two years ago, steroid testing of high school athletes was just beginning in Texas. On Tuesday, after the program produced 19 positive tests out of more than 45,000 samples, the Texas Education Agency proposed that testing be eliminated after this school year.
