You both raise excellent points. I'm thrilled to be in such interesting company with people who "get it" and care for our planet. Rock on!

Cheap gas gave us the horsepower wars in muscle cars and giant luxury cars for the rich and wannabes. Just think where we'd be if houses were super-insulated and we never had V8 engines? We certainly would not be killing people in the middleast just because they have the misfortune of living on top of the worlds major oil supply.

It's all about the money...fiberglass insulation was out in the late 1930's, aluminum foil (for vapor barrier use) in the late forties, and plastic sheeting (for vapor barrier use) in the late fifties. So why were they not in use in all of those post war houses? Energy was so cheap back then it had to be sold in high volume to be profitable. Hence no insulation in millions of homes.

That's for sure, because the corporations have the power. As Lincoln said 'When the corporations gain control the republic will be lost.' Thomas Jefferson said the same thing about banks. Their nightmare has come to past. Not to be a downer, just facts.
