SMITHVILLE — The Smithville Lady Tigers area playoff game has been moved to New Braunfels Canyon HIgh School and is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday.
Faith Ralph couldn’t imagine life without basketball. The senior nearly faced that reality before the season even started. During the G. M. Blackman Tournament in 2009 at Bastrop, Ralph injured her right knee in Smithville’s first game of the tournament.
Despite being out of the playoff race, the Tigers worked hard to pull off their second district win on Friday night against Columbus. Smithville (8-15, 2-7 District 25-3A) outscored the Cardinals in nearly every quarter, defeating them by a score of 76-68 at Tiger Gym.
The Smithville Lady Tigers won their first playoff game since 2007 Tuesday night.
