In 2001, Ford had to recall 2 million vehicles due to fauly ignition switches, they hid the evidence from the Fed's, and settled hundreds of wrongful death cases out of court and you never heard about it. As soon as the Gov't owned GM, the Toyota recall is daily headlines. Don't compete aginst Uncle Sam, you'll get squashed.
