Shaving for Icelandic interest rates

Jan 27 - Two Reykjavik restaurant owners who have been growing beards in protest of Iceland's double-digit interest rates are finally able to shave as the Central Bank cuts rates to below ten per cent.

Ulfar Eysteinsson and Tomas Tomasson could finally shave off their beards as Iceland's Central Bank trimmed its key interest rate by half a point to 9.5 per cent.

They had been growing the beards for eight months and vowed not to shave until interest rates in Iceland fell below 10 per cent.
