Senior Mobile and Third Party Product Manager

Job Description: Examiner.com is searching for a Senior Mobile and Third Party Product Manager to lead the design, development and execution of Examiner.com and licensed content and services on mobile devices and the Web. In this role your primary responsibility will be driving the vision and execution of Examiner.com for mobile users, while also expanding the type of information and services we provide on both the Web and mobile platforms to reach new and existing consumers.

At Examiner.com we recognize that mobile devices afford an opportunity to not just extend a website to small-screen devices, but to customize the experience in a manner that makes it more personal and useful to consumers on the go. The Senior Mobile and Third Party Product Manager is expected to champion a vision for Examiner.com on mobile devices that starts with the available content and services but builds on top of that as a result of better consumer understanding and market opportunity. The position will also work with third party vendors to integrate new services and content on both the Web site and mobile platform.

This position requires the blend of technical skills and people skills needed to manage the development of high-visibility products and services.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating a customer-centric vision for the product portfolio.
  • Defining a roadmap for mobile content, product and technology.
  • Defining a roadmap for third party integration.
  • Defining the customer experience and driving implementation of that experience throughout the development cycle.
  • Leading engineering, business development, sales and delivery teams to introduce and manage the product line from inception to end of life.
  • Developing competitive advantage through ongoing research and study of the market.
  • Maintaining up to date competitive roadmaps and product trends.
  • Working with marketing to establish tools for successful product introductions through creation of clear messages, technical marketing and communication documents.
  • Be the subject matter expert for Mobile and the main point of contact for third-party Project Managers, third-party Data Developers and vendors we may work with to execute our mobile and third party strategies.
  • You must be someone who can thrive and adapt even though a certain level of ambiguity exists in tasks or deliverables..
  • The environment will change quickly around you and an ability to respond rapidly to new information is vital.

Requirements:

  • Must have a strong comprehension of web services and text messaging concepts.
  • Ability to organize and motivate large cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding written communication skills which will reduce time to resolve support requests.
  • Advanced problem solving and ability to follow complex troubleshooting process steps.
  • Experience with Web Services and systems interface design.
  • 3-5 years experience with wireless data networks, services, and technologies, including: WAP, WML, XHTML, HTTP(S), WAP Push, SMS.
  • Bachelors degree in a related, technical field or 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • A proven track record of managing the end to end lifecycle of a wireless or mobile product or service.
  • Must have proven success in developing and delivering presentations, including experience with Powerpoint.
  • Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Examiner.com is looking for a dynamic addition to its creative sales and revenue team. The Media Planner will help develop, visualize and track key campaigns, and will report to the Sr. Director of Advertising Operations.

The right candidate will have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience working on a national and local client bases. The media planner will respond to RFPs, plan and manage campaigns, work directly with clients, lead meetings, develop campaigns, and optimize reporting strategies. In the future, the Media Planner may help direct Associate Media Planners and/or Account Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals
  • Understands the competitive landscape and communicates opportunities and challenges internally and/or clients
  • Understands the key marketing objective of client programs and provides recommendations
  • Develops campaigns to reach internal and client goals
  • Provides campaign Insertion Orders
  • Analyzes campaign data and adjusts performance accordingly
  • Creates weekly/monthly reports with detailed analysis to measure past and guide future optimizations
  • Approves and tracks payments of invoices by vendors for client
  • Acts as day-to-day contact for assigned clients
  • Manages assigned vendor relationships, and acts as the main point of contact
  • Manages assigned projects
  • Interacts with Executive and Editorial team members to solicit requirements and information needed for proposal building
  • Responsible for training, providing guidance, establishing goals and providing an appropriate level of feedback on a regular basis to junior associates
  • Other related duties and communications as required

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in Media Planning or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing or related program
  • Proficiency in DSM, DFP or similar ad serving applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong mathematic and analytical skills
  • Excellent Project management experience
  • Experience working with clients, advertisers or partner relationships
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
