Windows Mobile Phones compatible (or not) with Google Gears

Hi.
Though I've asked questions about the apparent lack of compatibility
of my particular Windows Mobile phone with Google Gears, I'm starting
this topic (that I hope will be 'stickier' as it gets filled in over
time) so people can indicate their phone, WM version, carrier, and
whether Google Gears works on it or not.... more »

about featured projects
If you have (or know of) a project that is compelling and a creative
use of the Gears API, we'd love to feature it.
A direct e-mail to me with a short summary and link will work.
Include [Featured Project Page] in the subject, please.
Thanks,
Austin

gears and android 2.X
Hi. We have a web application that uses google gears to store local copy of remote data. Now, we can't test our application on android simulator 2.0 or 2.1, because it does not support google gears, nor it is installable. I know that google is abandoning gears and migrate it to html 5. Is there any guide to migrate old gears code to new html5... more »

Memory leak with WorkerPool ?
Hasn't anyone noticed a memory leak on Firefox when using the WorkerPool API ? (Curiously I couldn't reproduce it on IE7.) Here is a sample page to open and let run a while in Firefox. Both cases seems to increase firefox memory usage a lot, even after stopping the constant reload and going to the url "about:blank" to get rid of the... more »

I have general drag & drop working, I was just wondering if there is a solution (Gears or not) that anyone knows of for handling drag and drop from other programs, such as dragging an email from Outlook into a browser. My only thoughts so far are some form of ActiveX solution, but i'd... more »

localserver not using new files when manifest version changes
I have an application that is always in offline mode (I'm only syncing data back and forth to the server if I have an internet connection). It works perfectly with the exception of when I make changes the app, recompile it, move the files to the server, and update the manifest file. When I do this, the ManagedResourceStore is detecting the... more »

Doesn't work with some linux
Hi, I tried to install google gears in my netbook's navigator (firefox) and a warning of incompatibility popped up: it can't be installed in my linux x-86 (xubuntu). The warning told me to tell the author, so that's what I'm trying to do here. Thanx Ianekin

blob basics

hello; I'm working on a web application that uses a locally stored gears/ sqlite database as the input unit. So people who want to use this site would create a gears/sqlite database created according to a publicly available protocol ("schema"?) and then when they fired up the site and they can use all the doo-dads that we built into the site... more »
