November is American Diabetes Month

More than 23.6 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes. Nearly 25% of them don't even know they have it. Diabetes is a leading cause of kidney disease, heart disease, nervous system damage, blindness and lower-limb amputations.  Find out if you or a loved one are at risk.

FDA and Everyday Health Collaborate to Expand Reach of Consumer Health Information

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Everyday Health today announced a collaboration that will expand the delivery of the agency's vital consumer health information to the 30 million unique users who visit Everyday Health each month. This joint effort reflects FDA's emphasis on using innovative, technology-based strategies to carry out its mission of protecting and promoting the public health.

New data, based on the 2008 National Health Interview Survey, shows little to no change over the past five years and hints that smoking rates may be moving in the wrong direction.
