Guineans gather for Obama's Ghana speech
On Monday, July 13, the Public Affairs section invited a group of Guineans to gather to watch President Barack Obama’s speech to the Ghanaian parliament, delivered on July 11 in Accra. Among those who came together to witness the speech were political leaders, academics, students, members of civil society and government and the Guinean press.

President Obama’s Visit to Ghana Will be Historic
President Obama's July 10–11 visit to Accra, Ghana, will be a "historic occasion," says Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson. He says it recognizes the progress Ghana has made particularly in the area of democratization which serves as an example to the rest of Africa.

Remarks for U.S. Embassy’s Fourth of July Reception
On Thursday, July 2, 2009 the US Mission in Guinea commemorated the 223rd Birthday of the United States of America at the Chancery in Koloma. Among the over 200 guests present, were representatives of the Government of Guinea, the diplomatic corps, International Institutions, civil society, political parties and religious leaders.
