The Texas County Histories Collection showcases the rich tapestry and proud heritage of Texas and Texans as represented by the volumes held in the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Stories of early pioneers, hopeful immigrants, lawbreakers, and the heritage of those here now are all part of the history of Texas, her cities, and counties.
Texas Laws and Resolutions Archive
This archive includes Texas state legislative bills beginning with the 78th Legislative Session.
Texas Maps
From early 1700's explorers' discoveries to tourist maps of the mid 1900's, the Texas Maps Collection in the Rare Book & Texana Collections houses a notable group of maps showing the changing look of Texas. Significant items include maps showing land grants, early settlements, and the growth of the railroads.
Texas Register Archive
This archive includes all issues of the Texas Register beginning with Volume 16, no. 44 (June 14, 1991), up to within a week of the most currently released issue.
Texas Soil Surveys
The Texas Soil Surveys demonstrate early scientific thought regarding soil classification and use. Each survey consists of a soil map and separate book. The maps show many cultural features in the landscape such as businesses, churches, schools, mills, gins, and ferries. TXSSAR Archives
Information on the Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution Archives. Founded over 100 years ago, TXSSAR is one of the largest of the state organizations, and through their activities seek "to perpetuate the memory of those who, by their services or sacrifices during the war of the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American people."
