SCHALLER WINS M.L.COLEMAN CLINICAL FACULTY MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD AT THE TEXAS COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE SENIOR AWARDS RECEPTION

Frederick Schaller, D.O., associate professor of internal medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, received the M.L. Coleman Clinical Faculty Member of the Year Award at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine senior awards reception.

The M.L. Coleman Clinical Faculty of the Year is chosen by a majority vote of the fourth year class and exhibits the following characteristics:

· Accepts students at less experienced colleagues.

· Respects students by establishing an atmosphere in which students find it easy to ask questions.

· Is enthusiastic about his or her subject.

· Presents material that is logically organized and easily digestible.

Dr. Schaller, who is also chief of the Division of Cardiology at the health science center, is a native of New Jersey. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in biologic sciences and German from the University of Delaware and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He currently resides in Arlington.

The senior awards reception was held May 19 at the Fort Worth Club.
