PATEL JOINS HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER'S DIVISION OF RHEUMATOLOGY
Rahul Patel, MD, joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty as an assistant professor of internal medicine in the division of rheumatology.
Dr. Patel currently focuses his practice and research on rheumatology, including the treatment of arthritis and arthritis-related conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and osteoarthritis.
Prior to his arrival at the health science center, Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas as well as a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. He received the Physician Scientist Development Award from the Arthritis Foundation for 2002-2004.
Dr. Patel earned his bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Rice University, graduating cum laude and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine.
A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., he currently resides in Irving with his wife and son.
