New Meningitis Law Passed The State of Texas has passed a new law regarding Meningitis immunizations that affects  most International Students living in UNT dorms. The law takes effect in January, 2010, and will impact all new students coming to the state of Texas, not just those students attending UNT.
"Big Coal" Debate with the UNT Debate Team and Faculty
The UNT Debate Team and faculty will debate the some of the compelling issues in UNT's One Book, One Community 2009 - 2010 selection, "Big Coal."

Study Abroad / International Student Graduation Sash
The GLE will be making a bulk order of study abroad graduation sashes for study abroad alumni and international students graduating in December!  These beautiful silk sashes with the flag of the country in which you studied abroad, or of your home country, are available for you to wear over your graduation robe, giving you recognition for your study abroad experience or the fact that you are proudly at UNT as an international student.
UNT IELI Establishes English Program in Turkey DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Faculty members at the University of North Texas are helping Turkey's Zirve University start an English language program. Eva Bowman, director of the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at UNT, and five faculty members are conducting a two-week boot-camp training with 40 English-language instructors at Zirve.

UNT-International is comprised of the following areas:

Intensive English Language Institute (IELI)
Established in 1977, IELI is one the largest language programs for learning academic English in the U.S.  With 350-400 students from over 30 different countries, IELI still offers small, student-centered classes, with an average class size of 12.

International Admissions and Recruitment Office
The International Admissions and Recruitment office is eager to work with you from answering questions about UNT, to the start of your application process, and assisting you through every step of your application.

International Student/Scholar Services Office (ISSS)
ISSS provides consultations, workshops, document services, and written information to assist students, scholars, and UNT staff and faculty in understanding and complying with immigration regulations.  

Welcome Center and Programs Office
The International Welcome Center provides year-round orientation for international students in undergraduate and graduate programs at UNT.  In addition, this office provides multicultural programming for UNT departments, and the Denton community.

Sponsored and Special Programs Center (SSPC)
SSPC provides specialized services to students enrolled in UNT's academic degree and English preparatory programs a large and their sponsors.  Sponsored students comprise a diverse population  representing many cultures from around the globe.

Global Learning and Experience (Study Abroad)
UNT’s “study abroad” office is here to help you go away and experience the world! This office offers global student engagement through hands on experiences, fieldwork, independent research, international internships, fellowships, service learning as well as traditional study abroad opportunities.
