From the Chair

Greetings:

Until now, the City of Dallas has been the only top 10 American city without a public institution of higher education to serve its citizens. Now, after nine years of operation as the University of North Texas Dallas Campus —nine years of explosive growth—the city’s long-held dream of having a new University has come to fruition.

The University of North Texas at Dallas will open its doors to its first freshman class in the fall semester of 2010.  This freshman class, and the 2,300 upper classmen and graduate students already on the campus, will chart a course that will forever change the city whose name the University bears. With the growth of a University comes economic growth, a better quality of life, increased earning potential and, most importantly, minds changed for the better — minds that possess critical thinking skills that must be held by contemplative citizens.

As an administrator at UNT in Denton, I have watched with interest the growth of the new UNT Dallas, and it is my honor to serve with a Search Committee comprised of some of the finest administrators, faculty, and staff with whom I have had the opportunity to work. We have selected a Search Committee that reflects the diverse makeup of our University.

We have provided on this web page links to information about UNT Dallas, a full position description, application and nomination procedures, and a list of committee members for your review. Please feel free to browse the site, and we look forward to reviewing your application materials.

Sincerely,

Sandra L. Terrel, Ph.D., Search Commitee Chair - Vice President for Academic Outreach - University of North Texas
