Dallas Campus offers forum on librarian programs

DALLAS (UNT), Texas — The University of North Texas Dallas Campus is offering an information session on both its library and information sciences programs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. January 16 (Friday) in room 224 at its location at 8915 S. Hampton Rd.

The event is open to both newcomers to the field interested in learning more about the library profession and those updating their skills by taking classes in specific aspects of librarianship, networking with other librarians and paraprofessionals.

Arlita Hallam, associate dean of the UNT School of Library and Information Sciences, will discuss career opportunities in the field as well as several area library administrators from medical, special, public, academic, and records management backgrounds. The library administrators will offer a roundtable discussion of the skills needed to get jobs as well as trends within the profession.

Dr. Hallam will discuss the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees and certificate programs that are available in face-to-face, videoconference and online classes.
