Greetings from the President

Welcome to the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This is an exciting time for the University due to our unprecedented growth - in more ways than one!  Enrollment is increasing annually and our students’ accomplishments continue to make an impression on healthcare in our community.  Our incredible staff and exceptional faculty members are growing and are dedicated to the success of our vision - to become a top 10 health science center.  The size of our campus has greatly expanded and construction of state of the art buildings are underway.  Alumni and community involvement are also on the rise, as are new research grants and patient encounters at UNT Health, Tarrant County’s largest multi-specialty group practice.

Our nationally recognized University is home to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Public Health, and the School of Health Professions, which includes the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and our new Physical Therapy Program.   We have world-class programs and partnerships including the Institute for Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Research, the Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the Physical Medicine Institute, and the Primary Care Research Institute.  We are also building knowledge through research with centers such as the Center for Human Identification and the Center for Commercialization of Fluorescence Technology.

We are passionate about engaging the community to improve health and welfare.  UNT Health, the Texas Center for Health Disparities, the Center for Community Health, and numerous educational outreach programs are wonderful outlets to reach those in our community who need outstanding health care.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center is looking to an extraordinary future.  I am honored to work with such outstanding people on a daily basis and welcome those who want to become a part of the UNTHSC family.
