Scholarships and Financial Aid

Many national scholarship foundations as well as various community organizations invest in the future by underwriting fellowships and scholarships. UNT students may contact the Office for Nationally Competitive Scholarships for guidance in locating and competing for these funds. For advice regarding your specific circumstances, e-mail Dr. James Duban, Director of the Office for Nationally Competitive Scholarships, at james.duban@unt.edu and describe your area of interest and expected date of graduation.

To apply for federal and state financial aid, complete and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  The priority date for fall enrollment is April 15.  This application is used for multiple programs including student loans, which provide money borrowed from the government or a financial institution.  Loans must be repaid with interest, but payment is usually deferred while you are in graduate school and continue to meet the loan criteria.  Qualifications are based on your financial need.  For more information, visit the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
