Training & Events

The Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign offers several hands-on training courses related to distance learning at UNT.

  • Blackboard Vista Training: We offer online and face-to-face training in Vista on a monthly basis. The online sessions are offered in Live Classroom, or we have several online courses in Vista that you can take at your own pace. Please review the link and sign up for the training sessions that fit your schedule.

  • Videoconference Training: These training sessions consist of discussion and a demonstration of videoconference sessions.

  • Brown Bag Seminars: These 1-hour sessions are offered during the lunch hour once a month and presented by a faculty member on campus. The discussion typically covers a topic related to distributed learning.

  • Sloan-C College Pass Online Courses: The Sloan Consortium is committed to helping individuals create quality online educational materials. They offer free, online mini-courses to UNT faculty. You can work in these courses at your own pace.

  • Turnitin Faculty and Student Training: We offer training to faculty and students in Turnitin, an online tool that helps faculty prevent plagiarism by providing a format in which students can submit papers to be compared against multiple online resources. Faculty can then view the results for any comparable submissions and make a judgement on whether the student has plagiarized.

  • Wimba Live Classroom: If this is your first time to use Wimba Live Classroom, run the setup wizard prior to participating in brown bag events.
