Dr. Paul Collins

His research involves the quantitative analysis of judicial decision making, with a particular focus on the role of pressure groups in the courts. His current research program investigates the interplay between attitudinal and legal factors as they relate to the decision making of appellate jurists. In addition, his research examines influences on the stability of judicial choice with a special interest in the psychological determinants of consistency. His research has been published, or is forthcoming, in the American Politics Research, Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, Journal of Politics, Justice System Journal, Law and Social Inquiry, Law and Society Review, Political Research Quarterly, and Publius: The Journal of Federalism.
