M. Christine KalishM. Christine “Chris” Kalish, MBA, is vice president and chief transformation officer for UNT Health, the physician practice plan for the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. As a member of the senior executive team of UNT Health, she works to drive a patient first culture, utilizing best practices in patient care and service delivery as fundamental guiding principles for all levels of staff.

Chris possesses more than 25 years of experience in business administration with 15 of those years in healthcare management. She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration with a concentration in finance from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’ s Allied Health Sciences School and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University, graduating as a Top Neeley Scholar.

Prior to joining UNT Health, Chris served as chief of staff, providing primary strategic and tactical support for the president of the UNT Health Science Center. She was also administrative director for the Health Science Center’s Department of Internal Medicine, managing the business operations of a 40-provider multi-specialty practice. Previously, she served in leadership positions at UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas, including clinical research manager in psychiatry, responsible for the business aspects of a $40-million national trial sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health. While she was completing her MBA, she worked as a special project manager for the Department of Radiology, focusing on business development and improvement in business operations. She was also the chief financial officer for the UTSW Cancer Center. Her experience includes serving in various management positions at Parkland Health and Hospital System and as practice administrator for a family practice physician in Fort Worth.

Chris has been recognized by the Medical Group Management Association for scholastic achievement and is a member of Alpha Eta, the national honor society for healthcare professionals. She is president-elect of the TCU Neeley School of Business Alumni Executive Board. Chris also serves on the Board of Directors of the Health Industry Council and the Health Industry Council Foundation. She is a member of Rotary, a 2005 graduate of Leadership Texas, and was recently appointed to the Fort Worth Commission for Women.  She is a member of Medical Group Management Association and American College of Healthcare Executives.
