Veteran's Education

Veteran's Education for Engineering and Science

Report of the National Science Foundation Workshop on Enhancing the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Benefit  This report describes the workshop and outlines its recommendations. It also explores the new veterans benefit and examines the population it will serve. The complete report can be found here.

Remarks by the President on the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill

In August 2009, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched a new program of educational benefits for veterans of the U.S. armed forces who served on active duty after September 10, 2001. The program greatly  expands the post-secondary educational benefits available to those veterans and creates an opportunity for the United States to expand its technical workforce while serving those who served.

A list of FY2009 projects supported by the Division can be found here.

Research and Education Highlights

Division education and research highlights play a key role in educating Congress, and informing the community and the public; they also serve to evaluate NSF's performance in relation to the strategic plan. They capture the essence of our research and education activities at the frontiers and convey their excitement and promise.  They also allow us to highlight emerging opportunities and challenges.

Selected EEC highlights can be found here.
