Recipients of federal contracts, grants, and loans awarded under the Recovery Act have reported on how the money was used. As of Oct. 10, 2009, the initial reports into FederalReporting.gov -- the government website created to collect the data -- indicate that recipients reported a total of 47,176 awards, 5,232 of which were federal contracts, 41,575 grants and 369 loans.
Recipients of $25,000 or more in Recovery Act awards are required to file reports 30 days after the close of the quarter that include,
- the total amount of money received between Feb. 17, 2009 and Sept. 30, 2009
- the total amount of funds expended
- a description of the project and its location,
- and the number of jobs created or saved.
The first reporting period began on Oct. 1, 2009 and ended on Oct. 10, 2009. Between Oct. 11 and Oct. 29, recipients and federal agencies have the opportunity to review the data; however, only the recipients can make changes to their reports.
The data collected on FederalReporting.gov is pulled for the Recipient Reported blue maps, as well as the charts and graphs related to recipient-reported information. Currently the blue maps and charts and graphs reflect initial data filed by recipients of federal contracts between Oct. 1 and Oct. 10. On Oct. 30, final contract data as well as the final grant and loan data will appear on the blue map and in the charts and graphs.
