$650 Million Available for the Chronic Disease Prevention Program
The Chronic Disease Prevention in U.S. Communities program has received approximately $650 million to build a multi-pronged approach to disease prevention and healthy lifestyles development.
The above funding levels for Improving and Preserving Health Care and for Health IT are estimates as of May 1, 2009. These estimates are being further refined and the chart will be updated when new estimates are available.
Notice: Due to the recent disaster, American Samoa has been granted an extension of the report submission period to January 10, 2010.
Where to Go For Assistance
Most of Recovery Act funding will go to States, Territories, and Tribes, who will in turn distribute funds through grants, contracts, subsidies, loan programs, etc. Be sure to check your State Web site for information. Additionally, check the list of State Recovery sites for a link to your state.
