There are few sports with a richer history than golf. What started in Scotland sometime in the 15th century has since grown to a worldwide game encompassing people from all walks of life. Although it is certainly a great game to play, nothing quite beats picking up some golf tickets and watching some of the most talented players play in one of the many tournaments held year-round.
There is no game out there that requires as much mental toughness, and it shows in professional golf. Golf has also given the sports world some of the most impressive individual performances of all time. It's hard to forget a 46-year-old Jack Nicklaus capturing his 18th and final major title at the 1986 Masters, or a young up-and-coming golfer named Tiger Woods blowing out the field at the 1997 Masters. And almost everybody, golf fan or not, remembers when the ninth, and final, alternate John Daly won the 1991 PGA Championship despite being virtually unknown in the professional golf world. The only way to experience such transcending moments in person is to see them in person at the links.
