Ali Love 9 Oct 2009

Ali Love – “Diminishing Returns”

Ali Love is back with a new single on Back Yard Records. “Diminishing Returns” is a brilliant italo disco infused track. Can’t get enough.

Chinese Man Records 8 Oct 2009

This video is old but its too good. I don’t need to tell you about it just watch. From French hip hop record label Chinese Man Records. Amazing.

Azari & III 7 Oct 2009

azari iii

Dinamo Azari and Alixander lll aka Azari & III are about to drop their Hungry For The Power EP on Cosmo Vitelli’s I’m a Cliche. The true anthem that is the title track needs no introduction. The EP proves Azari III are here to stay, and their vintage house sounds are continued with other gems “She’s an Illusion” and the instrumental of “Manhooker”. The EP is round up by 2 fantastic remixes of “Hungry for the Power” by Brooklyns Runaway and Cosmo Vitelli himself (collaborating for the first time with Mathias Aguayo). This release is a gem.

Sharam Jey 6 Oct 2009

Sharam Jey

France’s Slok has remixed Sharam Jey’s recent offering “In My Blood.” The track feature Bigstereo favourite’s Lost Valentinos Nikos on vocals. The Slok remix features beside other remixes by Kolombo, Jaimie Fanatic, Larry Tee & Alexander Technique, Mom and Dad, and Joe and Will Ask?. Nice one. Check the video posted on Bigstereo here.

Pop Noir 5 Oct 2009

pop noir

The extended remix of Pop Noir’s sounds like the darkest night… bass beat and synth dance around obscured processed vocals. There’s a certain amount of New Order being channeled, which is always welcome. The result is a very organic dance track from FHB, or Fantastic Heat Brothers, the moniker used by the wunderkind illustrator twins who front Pop Noir.

Hawnay Troof 5 Oct 2009

hawnay-troof-daggers-at-the-moon

We briefly mentioned that Vice Cooler is back with a new Hawnay Troof album a few weeks ago with the announcement of a video contest — well today we have another sneak peak and new track to premiere from Daggers At The Moon.

“Body Armageddon” features Mary Pearson of High Places who is the bread to a crazy Vice Cooler sitar sandwich. This is a total stand out track… a real taste of what Daggers At The Moon is all about. Much like Hawnay Troof’s previous works, you can expect high energy, slight chaos, an invitation to fun but most of all a peak into a true creative person’s mind.

Baby Monster 4 Oct 2009

baby monster

When you wake up and realize you are the last person on earth, “Ultra Violence and Beethoven” might be the optimal choice for your personal soundtrack. There’s a new world/new birth feeling to this one. Baby Monster makes me think of the beginning of MGMT’s “Kids” video, and perhaps the lazy comparisons don’t stop there. But there’s something a little more and different going on here.

If I was into rainbows and hearts and shit I’d put a bunch of hearts next to the song to prove how much I love/care about this song:

Uffie 3 Oct 2009

Trying to figure out if I still care about Uffie. The video is kinda hot. And the song is kinda cool in a nostalgic ironic type way. But is 2006 too soon for it to be “retro”?.. Uffie, Uffie, Uffie.

Do I still care about Uffie?

Silver Columns 2 Oct 2009

silver columns

Silver Column’s “Brow Beaten” is just about my favorite new song in quite a while. It has been on pretty much nonstop for the past week or so. No lie. There’s not too much info yet on its creator but Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard did a remix for “Brow Beaten” — kinda has a similar pulse/feeling as “Stuck on Repeat.” High energy synth pop with electro and disco breaking through. What’s not to love:
