State of Illinois offering Microsoft Elevate America vouchers via numerous channels
CHICAGO – Illinoisans interested in improving their computer skills can take free computer classes and exams thanks to the Microsoft Elevate America program. With these newly developed skills, individuals will be able to access greater job opportunities and better compete in the workplace, according to the state’s top commerce official.

Names Experienced Professionals to Oversee Union Relations
CHICAGO – September 5, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn today named two new members to the Illinois Labor Relations Board. The governor appointed Anne E. McElroy, a deputy director for the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, and Jacalyn J. Zimmerman, an attorney and authority on labor relations issues.
09/03/09 - Governor Quinn Joins Groundbreaking at Transportation Hub in Joliet
Facility Will Create Thousands of Jobs, Improve Local Economy
JOLIET – September 3, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn joined business and community leaders today to break ground on a new transportation facility in Joliet. Based on their existing Elwood facility, CenterPoint Properties projects 7,000 permanent jobs will be brought to Illinois by this new facility.
