SERGEANT FIRST CLASS (SFC) JOHN ADAMS
SFC Adams' heroic actions prevented anti-Iraqi forces from emplacing Improvised
Explosive Devices meant to injure American Soldiers. For his heroism, SFC Adams
was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" Device for Valor.
MAJOR (MAJ) JASON AMERINE
MAJ Amerine's actions in the face of overwhelming odds and direct hostile aggression
resulted in the surrender of Kandahar by the Taliban forces and directly contributed to
his country's success in the War on Terror. For his heroism, MAJ Amerine was awarded
the Bronze Star with "V" Device for Valor.
SERGEANT (SGT) MONICA BROWN
Refusing to leave a fallen comrade, SPC Brown distinguished herself by acts of conspicuous gallantry and courage under fire, becoming the second woman since WWII to receive the Silver Star, one of the nation's highest awards for valor.
SERGEANT FIRST CLASS (SFC) ROBERT GROFF
SFC Groff's bravery in the face of 250 well-armed insurgents saved the lives of numerous
Soldiers and civilians. For his heroism, SFC Groff was awarded the Bronze Star with "V"
Device for Valor.
SERGEANT (SGT) JASON MIKE
In keeping with the finest traditions of military heroism, SGT Mike's actions saved the lives
of three wounded Soldiers and numerous convoy members. For his heroism, SGT Mike
was awarded the Silver Star.
STAFF SERGEANT (SSG) TIMOTHY NEIN
SSG Nein's heroic actions during combat operation in Iraq contributed to the overwhelming
success of the Multinational Corps-Iraq Mission. For his heroism, SSG Nein was awarded
the Distinguished Service Cross.
STAFF SERGEANT (SSG) TOMMY RIEMAN
Outnumbered by the enemy and gravely injured with multiple wounds, SGT Rieman twice
put himself in harm's way to protect his fellow Soldiers and direct them to safety when
they came under vicious attack. For his heroism, SGT Rieman was awarded the Silver Star.
SECOND LIEUTENANT (2LT) GERALD WOLFORD
1LT Wolford's actions served to inspire other Soldiers on the battlefield and motivate
his section to continue the fight despite physical injury, vehicle damage and fatigue.
For his heroism, 1LT Wolford was awarded the Silver Star.
STAFF SERGEANT (SSG) MATTHEW ZEDWICK
SSG Zedwick exposed himself to a hail of enemy fire to rescue his squad leader
from a burning HMMWV. For his heroism, SSG Zedwick was awarded the Silver Star.
