Accessibility

Recovery.gov ensures that all functionality and content is accessible to all Americans as required under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Images and graphics on Recovery.gov contain "alt tags," that allow users with screen readers to listen to the content.

A "skip to" link provides users with a method for bypassing the header and going directly to the main content each time a page is accessed.

Any information presented in a color is also presented without color.

Row and column headers for data tables are identified.

Pages have been designed to avoid a screen-flicker frequency greater than 2Hz and lower than 55 Hz.

Closed captioning is available on videos.

Users can get information regarding the accessibility of Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files from the http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/user_info.html.

The site is being updated regularly to make it as accessible as possible.
