Wednesday eye-opener: Tebow needs to sit

Good morning.

The world's easiest decision this week should be made by Florida coach Urban Meyer.

Tim Tebow should be allowed to go anyway he wants Saturday, except one place -- the field against LSU.

This all plays out as Florida officials are getting closer to a decision on Tebow as he returns to practice.

1ablog-timtebow  "If (doctors) said he's ready to go, then we have to make a decision to play him," Meyer said. "I've got to make that clear. He has not been cleared to play in the game Saturday night. Absolutely not. I don't think that will happen for some time yet. He simply practiced a 20-period practice in full pads."

This is simple. Tebow's brain hit the back of his head when he was knocked out against Kentucky.

There would be no greater horror than Tebow being taken out on a stretcher Saturday. If doctors think he could be ready for LSU, he'll be seven days better against Arkansas.

Put the ball in John Brantley's hands and a headset on Tebow.

Treat the Florida QB like a man not a football player.

In a week when the NFL releases a study of how players are 19 times more likely to suffer dementia than non-players, this, if you will excuse the pun, is a no-brainer.

The litmus test is this. Would Tebow start against Charleston Southern?

If the answer is no, then you cannot play him against LSU.

Tebow's health, and no doctor is 100% sure of the long-term effects of a concussion, is paramount.

Bigger even than a win against LSU and bigger than another national title.

Your thoughts.

While we wait for the decision, here is some good work by some good people that we might have missed while going 12 innings last night.
