Welcome to the City of Austin's Performance Measures Database. The City of Austin is committed to providing the highest quality services to the citizens of our community. In an effort to sustain our service levels, strive for excellence, and continued improvement, the City of Austin implemented several years ago an operating strategy of Managing For Results. This strategy incorporates a very comprehensive Business Planning process, which establishes very clear departmental goals, objectives, and performance measures.
These performance measures provide a map of the annual expectations for each department. Performance measures provide departmental staff and management critical operating information; they provide City Management key decision-making information for resource allocation, process improvements and other management decisions; additionally, they provide the City Council comprehensive data on each department's primary operating functions.
This information has always been available to the public through the budget document, quarterly performance reports, community scorecard, and any specialized requested reports. However, with the advantage of today's technology, we are able to continue to improve our open communication with our citizens and have developed this Performance Measures Database.
The database provides the citizens an opportunity to review performance measures by overall department, department programs, or specific department activity. The data includes historical information, current year budgeted targets, as well as current year actual results. Additionally, database is a very useful information tool for our employees as they develop necessary work plans and identify focus areas.
The Definitions section can be accessed through the header of the database website. This section includes further information on some of the key terms utilized throughout the database.
This data is based on the most updated information and could change as more current information is provided.
