2009-09-21, The start of DC-2009 to be held 12-16 October 2009 in Seoul, Korea is now less than three weeks away. We are still accepting registrations online for the event until 5 October 2009. After that, it will still be possible to register on-site during the event. We have made some final adjustments in the program, with the session of the DCMI Science and Metadata Community now on Tuesday 13 October, and the final program of the Special Sessions on Linked Data.

2009-09-28, The Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale, a DCMI Gold Partner in 2008-2009, has agreed to be a Local Tutorial Partner under the DCMI Partnership Program. The Fondazione, in cooperation with DCMI, is organizing a Dublin Core Tutorial on 17 December 2009 in Florence under the title "Dublin Core: building blocks for interoperability". This Tutorial will take place on the day after the Conference "CULTURAL HERITAGE on line: Empowering users: an active role for user communities" on 15-16 December 2009. 2009-09-21, We are happy to announce that the DCMI Oversight Committee has appointed Mike Teets of OCLC Inc. (Dublin, Ohio, USA) as an independent member of the Committee. At the same time, Lorcan Dempsey of OCLC has stepped down after more than seven years of involvement, first in the DCMI Board of Trustees and, since the end of 2008, in the Oversight Committee. We are very grateful to Lorcan for his efforts over the years. The next meeting of the Oversight Committee is scheduled for 12 October 2009.

2009-09-21, The DCMI Recommendation "Expressing Dublin Core metadata using HTML/XHTML meta and link elements" has been revised with a small number of errata and an addendum with new examples.
