Job Description:
Conduct safety evaluations and accident/special investigations. Perform on-site inspections of liquefied petroleum gas, compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas installations and equipment to verify compliance with state statutes and safety rules, national standards and federal code requirements. Facilities and equipment include LP-Gas bulk storage and cylinder filling/service station installation, LPG/CNG/LNG transport trucks, public, commercial and industrial installations and LPG/CNG/LNG school buses and mass transit vehicles. Write technical reports of evaluations, complaint and accident investigations, and special projects assigned. Utilize a personal computer to schedule work assignments and complete reports. Operation of a car or pickup with extensive driving between 60-80% is an essential function of this position. Must have physical ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions, to climb, stoop, and reach low and high areas, crawl in cramped quarters, and lift or move up to 50-75 pounds. Must be able to walk/stand for a considerable amount of time.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Engineering. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Must have some knowledge of the application of engineering theory, techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of the LP Gas rules and regulations are helpful. Must be knowledgeable and proficient with Oracle database and Microsoft Office applications and have good organizational, communication, and writing skills.
