Block Parties - Recreational Street Use Permit


POLICY:
Applications for a Block Party shall be made to the City Secretary’s office and shall contain the following information:

1) The name, address and telephone number of the applicant (including a telephone number where he/she may be reached during the event).

2) The date and time of the proposed block party use.

3) A description of the event.

4) A petition signed by the residents within one block of the proposed location of the block party, including address, telephone number and indicating the signer’s support or disapproval of the events. A space on the petition should also be provided for the applicant to indicate whether the property at that address is vacant.

5) A detailed map of the area in which the event will be held. Include in the map a one-block area designating those residents or businesses which were petitioned for approval.

Such permit must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $15.00.

Failure of the City Secretary to issue a permit or revocation of such permit by the Police Chief shall be appeal-able by the applicant to the City of Lubbock Permit and License Appeal Board.
