The Library is upgrading!
From Tuesday, October 6th to Thursday, October 15th, the DeSoto Public Library will upgrade its computer system to better serve its patrons and provide state of the art computerized library services.
During this time, the library will be open regular hours, although some library services will be affected as follows:

From Monday, Oct. 5 – Thursday, October 15th, patrons CANNOT:
• Search the library catalog, both in the library and from the library webpage.

From Tuesday, Oct. 6th – Thursday, October 15th, patrons CAN:
• Check out library materials.
• Return library materials and have them checked in and removed from their patron records.
• Use all of the public access Internet computers during regular hours.
• Use the Computer Room Monday – Thursday 8 am – 10 pm, Friday 8 am – 6 pm, Saturday 9 am – 5 pm, and Sunday 1 pm – 5 pm.
• Library staff will continue to be available to assist patrons with finding materials.
• Access the library’s databases and electronic services.

From Tuesday, Oct. 6 – Thursday, October 15th, patrons CANNOT:
• Check out without their library cards. Patrons MUST have their library cards with them in order to check out materials.
• Place holds on materials, both in the library and from the library webpage.
• Receive Interlibrary Loan materials. Interlibrary Loan requests will not be sent until after Oct. 15th.
• Pay fines, fees, or other charges on their accounts.

Recreation and Civic Center
The Recreation and Civic Center will be closed due to maintenance on October 5, 6 and 7.
Now accepting applications for Firefighter/Paramedic
The test date is October 24, 2009. Applications accepted through October 9. [Download the application here...]
Citizen Volunteers Needed
We will be accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Park Development Corporation Board and the Tri-City Regional Animal Shelter Board. Deadline for applications is Friday, October 9, 2009.
