Panthers overcome turnovers for 28-14 win

It may not be one of the prettiest games Lufkin will play. But after
committing seven turnovers and stumbling offensively for much of the
day, the Panthers were glad to escape with a 28-14 win over the
Mesquite Skeeters Saturday afternoon at Abe Martin Stadium.
The Panthers lost four fumbles and threw three interceptions, but
the defense also forced six turnovers in holding off a late Mesquite
rally as the Panthers finished off the non-district portion of their
schedule with a 4-1 record. Read the entire story in the
