Disposal Fees

$28.50 per ton for municipal environmentally safe waste materials generated within the City of Lubbock

$51.25 per ton for Special Waste generated from inside the city limits, including non-friable asbestos

State Law
State law requires that each load be secured. If a load does not have a tarp or is not tied down to prevent loss of waste, the violator will be charged an additional $15.00 fee.

Deposit
A deposit will be required on all cash loads according to the size of the load and the type of material.

*The acceptable deposit may be cash, check (made out to the City of Lubbock and no amount written in until after disposal), or utility bill designating the haulers as occupant/resident paying the garbage charge. When producing the utility bill with the garbage charge and resident's name, the resident is entitled to twelve free loads at the landfill per year. Other requirements and stipulations may apply and the Landfill Policy governing this section will be followed. Questions concerning the utility bill for payment, please call 806-757-2151 or 806-767-2492.

*IMPORTANT*
A customer's utility bill is for residential use, not rent property with utilities paid by landlord, and not for commercial businesses. The utility bill may not be used for demolition including remodeling materials, roofing shingles, concrete, and/or bricks. All materials brought for disposal must be in accordance with TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) regulations pertaining to a Type I landfill.

Waste identified or listed as hazardous waste by the Environmental Protection Agency or the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission will not be accepted at either landfill.

Special Waste disposal at the City of Lubbock landfills requires approval by the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) and written approval prior to disposal by our Environmental Compliance Specialist. Special handling requirements for special waste may necessitate additional handling fees. Questions, requests for assistance, or written approval concerning special waste or hazardous waste should be directed to the Environmental Compliance Specialist, Shane Davis, at 806-757-2151.

ALL LOADS ARE SUBJECT TO RANDOM INSPECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF SCREENING THE WASTE.
