Burroughs Park

Burroughs Park is situated on 320.6 acres on Hufsmith Road between Kuykendahl and FM2978. What once was the homestead of Roy Campbell Burroughs is now the site of one of Harris County’s premier parks. The park features a playground suitable for able bodied and disabled children, miles of nature trails, a beautifully crafted pavilion, a stock lake great for fishing, and an abundance of soccer and baseball facilities. The park is home to a wildlife rehabilitation center and also houses a duck pond. Burroughs Park is also home to the historic Tomball Depot that for years greeted residents who came into town from the east along FM2920. Future plans are to make the historic building into a museum, preserving the area’s heritage. Very few of these once prominent depots, that were in every little town along the tracks, are now in existence.
