Special Services Division
Lieutenant Anthony Solomon
Lieutenant Anthony Solomon began his law
enforcement career while serving as a
Correctional Officer with the Texas Department
of Criminal Justice at the Darrington Unit.
During this time he attended and graduated from
the Alvin College of Law Enforcement Academy.
After graduation he began service with the
Tomball Police Department as a Reserve Officer
in 1993. Lieutenant Solomon was hired full time
in October of 1993 and joined the patrol
division. In 1997 Solomon was promoted to
Corporal. He promoted to the rank of Sergeant in
1999 and in 2002 Anthony Solomon began his
service as Lieutenant of Patrol. He now heads
the Special Services Division. Anthony is
currently working on his BS at the University of
Phoenix.

The Special Services Division has the
primary responsibility for the communication
function of the department, records service and
education of the citizens of the City of
Tomball. It is the policy of this department to
receive and dispatch citizen calls for service,
provide a communications link between officers
and the department, recruit new employees, train
all officers and staff, and maintain a Special
Services component to engage in a wide variety
of community based law enforcement activities.
The Special Services Division is comprised of

Communications
- Receives and dispatches all Police/Fire
calls for service
- Answers all emergency 911 calls and
dispatch emergency personnel
- Maintains a hard-copy and electronic
record of all communications
- Maintains the Computer Aided Dispatch
System and enters all computer generated
material into various state and local
criminal justice systems

- Public Information Request
Information Technology
- Maintain and support all computer
systems
- Perform department wide update service
- Purchase and install of all software and
hardware

Training
- Coordinates training of all employees
- Maintains all training records
- Keeps up to date status and communicates
between TCLEOSE and department
Administrative Support
- Coordinates all VIPS activities
- Coordinates all Community Based programs
- SRO supervision
- Perform all recruiting and point of
contact for prospective employee applicants
- Oversee personnel needs
