About The City of Tomball,
Texas
THE
TOMBALL, TEXAS STORYThe bigger Tomball gets, the more it seems to resemble a small
town. It’s not the predominance of quaint buildings farmhouses
or front porch evenings. It’s the people who live here who make
the real difference. They are the ones who pull together to
better the community. The courtesy of a kind word is extended to
acquaintances and strangers alike, and a handshake means more
than anything you could put down on paper does.
It’s the friends and
neighbors, for instance, who got together to create TOMAGWA
Ministries, a medical assistance organization, as well as the
popular and very Tomball Community Center. They’re also the ones
who built the Roy Campbell Burroughs Park, which offers areas
for use by all children, including those with disabilities.
In Tomball, the motivation
comes not so much from civic duty as it does from something like
the devotion felt within a family. You are invited to join
theirs.
QUALITY OF LIFE
There are numerous
cultural, recreational and sports activities located in the
Tomball area. Major events, facilities and professional sports
teams are found in nearby Houston. In addition, overall
lifestyle is enhanced by the forested beauty and streams found
in the local area.

SETTING AND ATTRACTION
Including about 300 square miles of land in Northwest Harris
County, the Tomball market area contains open rural territory,
as well as abundant forested land. The availability of ample
scenic land at attractive prices has been a strong factor. Also,
the land elevation is higher than that in most other Houston
areas, a condition that reduces flooding. Local growth has also
been facilitated by the reasonable commute via State Highway 249
to the job base in Houston. Tomball’s robust commercial growth
of recent years has led to the creation of thousands of jobs
locally particularly in the retail, medical and services
categories.
