Committee (DRC)
What is the
Development Review Committee (DRC)?
The purpose of the DRC process is to
protect the health and safety of Tomball
citizens by providing code compliant
reviews of construction plans as well as
review of commercial, residential, and
business properties for compliance with
building codes, state laws, and city
ordinances. Prior to undertaking a
project, property owners and developers
are encouraged to schedule a DRC meeting
to obtain pertinent information relating
to their proposal, as the processes will
require further review before formal
approval.
The DRC consists
of representatives from the following
departments:
- Engineering &
Planning
- Building
- Public Works
- Fire Marshal’s
Office
- City Manager’s
Office
The DRC will be
ready to assist you with:
- Processing of
subdivisions, residential and
commercial projects
- Platting
questions/requirements
- Zoning
questions
- Utility
availability
- Right-of-way &
Dedication requirements
- Drainage
questions/requirements
- Building code
and compliance
- Fire code and
compliance
If you would
like to schedule a DRC meeting, the
following is required:

A site plan / conceptual site plan
and survey must be available for
review.

If available, please bring
architectural plans, plat, and
utility plan.

The property owner or owner’s
representative must be present.
Developers, engineers, surveyors,
architects, and other
representatives of the project are
strongly encouraged to attend.
When and where does the DRC meet?
DRC meetings are held every Wednesday
from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the Public Works
Building, located at 501 James Street.
How do I request
a DRC meeting?
You can complete
the
DRC Meeting Request Form
online and return it via email to Brandy
Pate at
bpate@ci.tomball.tx.us or fax it to
her attention at 281-351-4735.
Meeting request
forms must be received no later than
4:00 pm on Monday. City staff will
contact the requestor to confirm meeting
dates/times. If the requested meeting
date is not available, other dates/times
will be offered. If you are unable to
keep your scheduled meeting,
cancellation notice must be received no
later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday.
