Special Events
Midlothian is home to many unique civic events and activities. The events are scheduled throughout the year, so the wait is never too long! The various events are sponsored by area businesses, civic groups and the Chamber of Commerce. Spring Fling
Spring Fling is held the 2nd Saturday of May in Heritage Park, downtown Midlothian. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy arts & crafts, great food and various forms of entertainment!

Fly-In Breakfast at Mid-Way Regional Airport
The Fly-In Breakfast at Mid-Way Regional Airport is an annual event held the 1st Saturday of June from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  Breakfast tickets are $6.00, though one child under 8 eats free with each paying adult. The event includes classic airplanes & cars, remote control model flyers, live music and other activities.

Summer Balloon Classic

An Aviation Extravaganza featuring 40 magnificent Hot Air Balloons occurs annually in June. 5 beautiful mass ascensions followed by top ranked competitors flying their balloons in challenging competition. "Lite the Nite" balloon glow at sunset on Saturday evening fills the area with balloons on static display to light the sky with spectacular glow of color! Aviation Extravaganza during the day features airplanes, helicopters, military aircraft, gliders, skydivers, powered parachutes, RC aircraft and more in flight and static display. Some flights available to public. Attractions-Exhibits, food, arts & crafts, children’s area and more! Something for all ages! Fourth of July Fireworks
Each Fourth of July the Citizen's National Bank sponsors a fireworks show beginning at sundown. Residents are encouraged to watch from the grass fields at the Sports park looking west towards Midlothian High School.

Fall Festival

The popular Fall Festival is held annually the 3rd Saturday of October. A city street is shut down to make way for over 200 booths with arts & crafts, artists, food vendors and children's activities. The festival also includes the annual Scarecrow Contest and 5K Downhill Dash.

Holiday Light Up Parade

The Holiday Light Up parade is held the 1st Monday evening of December.
