MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
Whatley 2_thumb.jpg
I’d like to take a moment of your time to invite you to the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce 2009 Fall Festival Saturday, October 10th. The yearly October gathering has been happening in Midlothian for many years and gets better every year. This is a family-oriented event that brings not only our own residents out to enjoy the fun ….but we have plenty of folks from neighboring cities that come to enjoy a day in the sun and find something special to take back home with them.

For the last several years the City, MISD and Midlothian Chamber have worked together to bring you a safe, fun event. I have heard that there are a number of special events happening during the course of the day and this year we are fortunate to have the truck from the movie “TWILIGHT” at the Fall Festival. This year, our Farmers Market has moved to the event for those of you that like home grown vegetables, organic meat and fresh baked goods. Besides arts and crafts there will be a petting zoo, train ride, hot air balloon and plenty of good food to eat with over 200 booths to visit. I even hear that flu shots are available to those that haven’t had theirs yet. For those of you that enjoy running, contact the Midlothian Chamber to register for the Christelle Moser Memorial 5K Run. You can visit their website at www.midlothianchamber.org to register online or call them for more information at (972) 723-8600. There are age groups that range from 11 to over 70.

So take some time this weekend to bring the family out and enjoy your time with us. You’ll be glad you did and I hope to see you there!

ON-SITE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS INSPECTIONS
tceq logo_thumb.jpg
In May of 1995, the City of Midlothian entered into an interlocal agreement with Ellis County for on-site sewage facility (i.e. septic tank) inspections within the City limits. Since this time, Ellis County has been responsible for handling all permitting, inspection, reporting and complaint issues within the City. At the November 20, 2008 regular County Commissioners’ Court meeting, the Court acted to terminate the 1995 interlocal agreement, beginning on October 1, 2009. As a result, Ellis County will no longer serve as the Authorized Agent for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within Midlothian’s municipal boundaries.

Therefore, effective October 1, 2009, the TCEQ will handle all on-site sewage facility related issues within the City limits. The appropriate contact information is as follows:
