A division of the Financial and Management Resources Department,
the Office of Communication provides news and information about City
of Arlington programs and services.
The Office of Communication is the winner of numerous state and
national communication awards, recognizing excellence in web site,
newsletter and broadcast production.
The OOC organizes news conferences, special events, assists the
news media, issues press releases and publishes the twice monthly
E-ARLINGTON newsletter
for residents. Additionally, the Office of Communication manages
content on the CITY OF ARLINGTON WEB SITE at
www.ARLINGTONTX.gov,
which serves to inform and promote City of Arlington programs 24
hours a day.
The OOC manages content on the CONNECTIONS PORTAL for employees
and produces a variety of special reports, brochures and news
bulletins, including the Cowboys Stadium Scoreboard Report and
Entertainment District Newsletter.
The Office of Communication manages the live broadcasts of
Arlington City Council Meetings, City Council Work Sessions, and
Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings on
ARLINGTON'S GOVERNMENT CHANNEL
on Time Warner Cable. All cable programming is also web cast on the
City of Arlington web site.
ARLINGTON'S GOVERNMENT CHANNEL
is home to the Access Arlington Video Bulletin Board, which provides
news and information about the City of Arlington when the Office of
Communication is not broadcasting meetings and original programming.
The Office of Communication is also comprised of a Graphics Office,
which assists city departments in producing documents. This office
creates original desktop artwork, produces layout and design,
contracts for desktop and art productions, and handles foreign
language document translation.
