Solid Waste Services - Residential and Commercial

The City of Killeen Solid Waste division provides municipal garbage collection, disposal and container services for all residential and commercial establishments in Killeen.

The Solid Waste division is divided into four operations:

Residential Services
The City of Killeen provides once per week residential garbage collection to approximately 34,000 households. Customers can choose from 96 gallon, 64 gallon, or 32 gallon containers. Pickup is provided using automated equipment that grasps the container and lifts and empties the container into the collection truck. This type of system is faster, more efficient, and safer for employees.

Commercial Services
The City of Killeen provides garbage collection for commerical customers. Customers can select from a variety of dumpster container sizes and frequency of pickup. Call 501-7785 for more information on commercial services.

Recycling Services
The Killeen Recycling Center provides an opportunity for citizens and commercial businesses to participate in a community recycling program. The city also offers curbside recycling collection to residential customers through a subscription service. The cost is $2.10 per month. Call 501-7785 for details.

Transfer Station
The transfer station is the central receiving and transfer point for solid waste generated by the City of Killeen. Residential customers are allowed to use the tran sfer station for excess garbage up to 300 pounds per month. Any weight over 300 pounds per month will be charged to the customer at the current per 100 pound rate.
