About TXCOMP

The creation of TXCOMP required the extensive transfer of information from our old system. During this transfer, some data inconsistencies may have occurred. DWC is performing continuous testing to ensure the accuracy of the data provided by TXCOMP. If data discrepancies are found, please contact DWC using 'Contact Us' above so that we may correct the issue.


TXCOMP Mission
The mission of the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation's automated system (TXCOMP) is to:
  • Provide improved services to DWC customers by combining streamlined business processes with up-to-date technology;
  • Facilitate efficient and effective communication of information between all workers' compensation system participants; and
  • Capture and provide access to comprehensive, accurate, and reliable workers' compensation information.
TXCOMP Claims and Coverage System:
  • Functions available to the general public include:
    • submit information about a work-related injury, illness, or death
    • search for covered employers and view information on their coverage
    • search for insurance carrier contact information
    • view information on DWC services and reports
    • request online access (a Log On ID) as a participant to a workers' compensation claim. As an example, a member of the general public cannot see claim information unless the person has been designated as a participant on that claim.

  • Functions available to approved, logged-on participants include:
    • Claims: For the claims in which a person is a participant, a logged-on participant can view non-public information such as claim status and details, including medical billing. Some participants also can update information.
    • Coverage: For policies in which a person is a participant, a logged-on participant can view non-public claim history of an insurance carrier or claims on a policy and can view payment information reported to the Division by insurance carriers. Some participants also can update information.

  • TXCOMP Claims and Coverage expanded the Division’s capabilities for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)--automated transmission of information.
